Natural Reserve „Golul alpin Bâlea”
Bâlea alpin is a nature reserve in Sibiu county, located in Fagaras Mountains, at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. This is especially known for its lake and waterfall with the same name and is considered to be the most grandiose alpine area of the Southern Carpathians.

Transfăgărășanul It is one of the longest and most spectacular mountain roads in our country. The road stretches for 92 kilometers, the counties of Arges and Sibiu and crosses, from south to north, Făgăraș Mountains, linking historical regions Wallachia and Transylvania.
Among the attractions that can be visited along the road is Vidraru Lake and Vidraru dam, Goat River Valley, Goat Waterfall, Natural Reserve „Golul Alpin al Munților Făgăraș” și Natural Reserve „Golul alpin Bâlea” .
Păltiniș is another well-known mountain resort in Sibiu. It is situated on the north eastern side of Cindrel Mountains, at 35 km distance from the city of Sibiu. Paltinis is said to be the oldest ski resort in our country, it was founded in the nineteenth century. Here are three villas, more than a century old, historic monuments – Tourists’ Home, Doctors’ House and Monaco Hall– Memorial house „Constantin Noica” and the Hermitage „Schimbarea la față”, where he is buried.
Fortified church of Cisnădioara
Fortified church of Cisnădioara is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Sibiu County. It was built on a hilltop, from the town with the same name, the early twelfth century, between 1162-1223. This is a walled stone church, all stone, that had defensive role.
